Home Hospice North Lanark Thanks the Better Your Bridge Club
Home Hospice North Lanark is always grateful to our supporters. Our “hospice without walls” is committed to providing the type of compassionate support that our clients who are facing life-limiting illness or an end-of-life situation need. This can include a visit from one of our Program Coordinators to help navigate the system and provide advocacy, visits from our trained volunteers, teaching Caregivers practical skill or educating the public so they can find resources that may make their journey a little easier, to name just a few.
We are especially thrilled when a group of people makes the decision to donate to us, with its implied validation of the work we do.
Better Your Bridge Club (BYBC) is one such group. They recently donated $500 to Home Hospice North Lanark. BYBC was spearheaded by Marny McCook, Suzanne Kennedy, and Kim Curran, and assisted by Phillip Mayhew and John Coderre. All experienced bridge players, they offer an opportunity to have fun while learning the nuances of playing bridge.
Designed for novice and more experienced bridge players, who can drop in at the newly renovated upstairs hall at the Royal Canadian Legion in Almonte on Thursday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30. The fee is only $5 and includes a 15-20 minute talk on some aspect of the game by experienced bridge teachers, Cille and Rob Harris. Attendees then play bridge for 2 hours, moving about the room as directed, playing 2-4 hands of bridge at each table.
