Our Staff
HHNL is proud of our Visiting Volunteers. Our Program Coordinators, Emily Ballinger and Sara Burrill oversee our Visiting Volunteers and Caregiver Support and Bereavement programs, bringing support and advocacy to clients in North Lanark. These dedicated people are the very heart of our program.
Emily Ballinger, RPN
Emily Ballinger, RPN has been nursing for the past 15 years specializing in caring for the geriatric population. She is dedicated to the well-being and quality of care being delivered to clients. She shares her focus on educating and advocating for this exceptional group, and is passionate about providing the best palliative and end-of-life care possible. She is a proud mother of 4 young and busy boys, who keep her active, always learning and laughing.
Sara Burrill, R.N.
Sara Burrill, R.N., has been nursing for seven years in communities across Canada, including the Carleton Place Hospital. She is passionate about working with the geriatric population and providing the best palliative and end-of-life care possible. Sara lives in Carleton Place with her husband, two large dogs and two small children.
Sidney Thomson, RN CHPCN (C)
Sidney Thomson, RN CHPCN (C) has moved to a new role — Volunteer Program Administrative Support. In this volunteer role, she will be able to free up time for our Program Coordinators by dealing with a lot of the administrative-type functions. She will also be staffing our satellite offices at the Almonte and Carleton Place libraries. We are so grateful that we — and the community — will continue to benefit from Sidney’s vast amount of experience and knowledge.
