ABOUT HOME HOSPICE NORTH LANARK
Home Hospice North Lanark is a not-for-profit registered Canadian charity funded 100% through donations and targeted fundraising initiatives. We are a “Hospice without walls.” We provide compassionate in-home support—wherever home may be—for adult clients and their families who have received a life threatening or terminal diagnosis. Services are provided in the North Lanark area by a trained volunteer, in a confidential, respectful and client-centered manner under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

POSITION
Administrative Assistant position, paid, part-time, contract, reporting to the Chair.
One year contract, with possibility of extension(s).

DUTIES
• Attend the Program Management meeting monthly (except July and August) for the purpose of taking minutes
• Assist the Board Chair with preparation of various correspondence
• Respond to Board member requests for documents from Microsoft Teams
• Under direction of the Accreditation Committee, prepare required documentation for submission to Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO)
• Upload documents to Microsoft Teams while maintaining formal structure for ease of use
• Manage and maintain the Microsoft Teams database system
• Compile documentation for the Annual General Meeting
• Ensure all policies are in a consistent format
• Put together information packages for clients and volunteers
• Create and maintain a proper filing system and keep an up-to-date list of files for reference

QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience taking minutes preferably at a Board level
• Computer experience with a focus on Microsoft Suite/Teams would be ideal
• Knowledge of database systems would be an asset
• Experience structuring and writing policies and procedures would be an asset
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets would be an asset
• Team player
• Admin assistant experience preferred

REQUIREMENTS
• 10-15 hours monthly; this may increase as the needs of the Board change
• Access to a computer
• 3 references required

Hourly rate negotiable
